Is that mobile stolen?

All carriers share their data electronically allowing for the unilateral IMEI blocking of lost and stolen mobile phones across all networks.

To assist retailers and consumers to ascertain if a phone has been reported as lost or stolen, AMTA provides a free IMEI check. This service will provide you information as to whether or not a handset has been reported as lost or stolen across the networks.

Just click on the icon to the right which says "check your IMEI here" and follow the prompts.

Warning: This check only provides details of phones reported and blocked at the time of the inquiry therefore it is not conclusive. If the owner of the phone does not report it lost or stolen prior to your purchase, the resulting IMEI check cannot identify it as a lost or stolen.

All buyers of a second-hand mobile phone should request proof of ownership at the time of purchase.
